Drew was excited, she had finally gotten a moment to herself, none of her siblings bothering her, Bianca was out of camp shopping with her siblings, which meant she could finally practice in her ballet studio with no interruptions, she went down to her ballet studio and turned on some music, she started to stretch when she heard a noise upstairs, she let out a curse under her breath.
“Come down!” Drew called out, Marina came down the ladder.
“Am I interrupting something?” Marina asked, Drew sat down on the floor.
“Just my practice, what’s up Marnie?” Drew asked, Marina sat down next to her.
“I dunno, I’m just bored, Leyna went to go do something stupid with Callan, I think they’re being idiots and drag racing, and Roxy’s in the arts and crafts building and I refuse to bother her while she’s working.” Marina replied, Drew grinned.
“You could stay down here and hang out with me while I practice my solos.” Drew suggested, Marina smiled and sat down at the counter.
“Sure!” Marina agreed, Drew went over to her cd player and put in her debut cd, she skipped to her solo song and started to dance, she got lost in the music and finished for the first time after four minutes, Marina clapped.
“Thank you, thank you.” Drew said, she bowed.
“That was great Drew, let me guess, it’s dedicated to Bianca?” Marina guessed, a teasing tone in her voice.
“Actually, it’s dedicated to my friends. I do have a solo dedicated to Bianca, but not to ‘I'm only me when I’m with you.” Drew said.
“Anyway, what’s been up with you?” Marina asked, Drew sat down at the counter next to her.
“You already know the basics, but I’ve been throwing myself into dance more than I already do, and it’s paid off, I’m doing like, four solos, two duos and a trio dance with Allison and Charlotte.” Drew replied, she grinned.
“That’s great Drew!” Marina exclaimed.
“Anyway, I really need to practice, you can watch if you want, or you could grab a magazine off my shelf.” Drew suggested, Marina nodded and grabbed a magazine off the shelf, Drew pressed play on her cd player and went back to doing her solo, she finished it for the second time when she heard a noise.
“Come down!” Marina called out, Amber came down the ladder.
“Hey, what are you doing?” Amber asked, now, Drew would admit it cause she was an honest person. Amber was a complete mystery to her, she knew about her past with Summer, and what they had done together, and everything that happened after she had come to camp, but Amber still intrigued her.
“I’m practicing one of my lyrical solos.” Drew replied, she went over to her fridge and got a bottle of water, she took a sip.
“That’s nice.” Amber said, she was pretty quiet, Summer’s polar opposite, but she knew there was more to Amber than met the eye.
“So, what’s been up with you?” Drew asked, she wanted to figure out how Amber was besides the stuff she already knew about her.
“That’s a loaded question.” Amber replied, she sat down on the stool and let out a sigh.
“Isn’t it always?” Marina asked, she smiled softly.
“That's true, I wanted to try and talk to you, I’ve been an only child my whole life, and with the shock of everything else, it would be nice to have siblings I’m close to.” Amber replied, Drew realized that she wasn’t going to be able to work on her solo right now, she hopped up on the counter.
“I was the same way when I came to camp, and I had Drew close in age to me, and that was amazing.” Marina said, Drew elbowed her and she smiled.
“That’s nice, how are you guys doing?” Amber asked.
“Pretty good, it’s been so quiet, I mean it’s always quiet year round, but even more so than usual, but I’ve been pretty good.” Drew replied, she pressed play on her cd player and started to practice her solo, she finished as Amber clapped.
“That was good.” Amber complimented, Drew smiled.
“Thanks, I should probably practice my other solos now that I'm thinking about it.” Drew said, Marina grinned.
“You mean your solo where you’re going to be sappy about Bianca?” Marina asked, Drew gave her a look.
“Shut up Marnie.” Drew replied, Marina smiled.
“Anyway, i'm going to go see if Leyna and Callan are back yet, i have a feeling that me and Roxy are going to be teaming up on a lecture, later.” Marina said, she got up and went up the ladder.
“So, what do you wanna talk about Amber?” Drew asked, Amber gave her a look.
“My current ideas are explaining all of my trauma in chronological order, and that might take a few hours.” Amber replied.
“Hmm, what are your hobbies?” Drew asked.
“I like to read, and I really like photography.” Amber replied.
“You’d get along well with Roxy, she has like over twenty cameras, and she’s a film nerd.” Drew said, Amber smiled.
“Okay, what’s the deal with this place? all i know is that Chiron’s a bitch and that Bianca’s insane.” Amber asked, Drew let out a snort.
“Okay so, Chiron is a bitch, he doesn't give a shit about any issues that go on around camp, Bianca is insane and i love her for it, and you should probably start making some friends, you have Summer which is great cause they’re next in line for head counselor if Will, Kayla and Austin both decide they don't want to be year rounders anymore, and they have a lot of pull around camp, which they already told you about, our cabin’s pretty big in size, and we have a lot of cabin strength, which i helped us get by the way, twenty fights with Piper later and we did a lot for this cabin, hell even Chiron’s scared of me, that might also be from the fact i’ve cursed him out more times than i can count, any questions?” Drew replied, Amber looked at her.
“Oh great, another adult that doesn't give a shit, yeah, what’s the catch around here?” Amber asked, Drew grinned
“I can get away with sneaking Bianca into my cabin and sneaking into her cabin, and Chiron barely gives a shit when we go out of camp, which maybe he should care about, but his head’s too far up his ass to consider caring about us.” Drew replied.
“And what’s your deal? You seem so off around me and I can't figure it out.” Amber asked.
“Truthfully, i’m scared of accidentally saying something i shouldn't, i know a lot about you, and a lot of it is shitty, and you and Summer have a really complicated past together, and i don't want to accidentally ruin my friendship with them if i say the wrong thing, i can be a bitch sometimes, and i hate it.” Drew replied, Amber hopped up on the counter and patted the spot next to her, Drew hopped up on the counter next to her.
“If it helps, I don't think you’re a bitch, you’ve been really kind to me after everything, and you’re pretty cool.” Amber said, Drew wrapped an arm around her shoulder and grinned.
“You’re pretty cool too.” Drew said.
“I have a feeling we’re going to get along so well, now tell me everything about you and Bianca.” Amber demanded, Drew smiled and fidgeted with her ring.
“Okay so, we first met in the pegasi stables two years ago, and-” Drew started to ramble, she zoned out as she talked, happy to have gained another sister.
