Expected Intruder - Kit_Thornhart - Creepypasta (2024)

It was a relatively normal evening.

Evander had reached Bernadette’s home -which was very cozy and quaint, he must admit- and decided to let himself in. Wouldn’t be the first time, and it most certainly wouldn’t be the last. Judging by the lack of a motorcycle, she probably wasn’t here right now. Oh well, she would be back in time, and he would definitely receive an earful for breaking in. Again. What was strange to him, however, was the presence of an unfamiliar car. It definitely looked to be a pricy one, but the color choice was odd. A pale lavender hue.

He didn’t pay it much thought, however, and picked the front door lock, letting himself inside. He stretched his arms over his head, his back popping in the process. Well, since Bernadette wasn’t here, he decided to make himself comfortable. He began monologuing to himself, something that he had a tendency for. Bernadette had caught him doing it more than once.

“Surely, they wouldn’-!”

Suddenly, with zero warning, he was tackled to the floor onto his back.He let out a grunt as he was pinned, a petite hand gripping his shoulder shockingly tight. He could feel pressure on his stomach, signaling his assailant was sitting on top of him.

“Who the hell are you, and what are you doing in my house?”

A female voice demanded, and an unfamiliar one at that. It was softer than Bernadette’s, but commanded the same amount of authority hers did. Hell, maybe even more so. Opening his eyes, he saw a thin, almost doll-like face glaring down at him with warm amber eyes. Long red hair draped from either side of her head in long, neat pigtails.

He raised an eyebrow at the pronoun usage. “Your house, hm? I’m sorry, miss, but I’ve been here a multitude of times, and I’ve never seen you before.”

“Likewise. I’m moving back in. I lived with Bernadette a few years ago, and she asked me to move back in.” The redhead explained. “Now answer my question. Who are you, and what are you doing here?”

“Sounds like you missed quite a lot, dearie. Bernadette has a lot to catch up on. If you’ll kindly get off of me, I’ll gladly-”

“LOCKLEAR!”

Bernadette loudly called out, making Evander jolt. “Ah, well speak of the devil and she appears, I guess.” He chuckled.

The redhead snapped her attention towards Bernadette, a shocked expression on her face. “You know him, Dove?” She asked.

‘Dove’? That was an interesting nickname, Evander thought.

Bernadette let out a sigh. “Unfortunately, yes. C’mon, get up..” She walked over, gently pulling the redhead up to her feet.

Now that she wasn’t practically straddling him, Evander got a better look at the unknown woman. She was shorter in comparison to Bernadette, let alone to himself. She dressed in a way that most people would consider ‘cutesy’, with a lot of pastel purples, bows, and white stockings. ‘How on earth did someone so small manage to knock me down so quickly?’ He wondered.

“Alright… Let’s try this again,” Bernadette suddenly said.

“Kitsune, this is Evander. He’s a… a serial killer I tried catching.”

“I beg your pardon, he’s a WHAT?!”

“No, no, i-it’s okay, he’s… He’s not gonna hurt us. If anything, he’s mostly gonna annoy us and come by for food every so often.”

Kitsune slowly turned to look at Evander, her eyes narrowed. “And what, pray tell, is ‘every so often’?

“Every other day roughly, sweetheart.” Evander chimed in. “I will say… Kitsune, was it? That’s definitely a unique name.”

“Well, yeah, I chose it myself when I was twelve. Anyway.” Kitsune crossed her arms. “You really mean no harm? None at all?” She asked, obviously not all that convinced.

Evander put one hand on his chest, holding the other up. “You have my word.”

“I better.” Kitsune huffed, turning back to Bernadette. “I can see now why you said you have a lot of things to catch me up on.”

Bernadette nervously chuckled. “Yeah… Sorry, Pigeon.” She responded, the bird nickname not going unnoticed. “And also, sorry for not being here when you showed up, I was just caught up in something, and-”

“Bern, it’s okay. Honestly. Listen, if you’re that worried about it, you can make it up to me by having dinner with me tonight. We can order takeout, watch some cool horror movies, and catch up. Sounds like a plan?” Kitsune asked, her voice a lot sweeter and kinder than it was previously.

“Alright… Alright. Yeah, that sounds good.” Bernadette nodded.

Kitsune gave a slight hop in response. “Wonderful! Now then, I’ll be up in my room. Boo is… not taking the move very well, unfortunately. Currently hiding on my pillow.”

“Aww, Boo! I missed that little guy… Did he get any bigger?”

“Hah, no. Not even remotely. I’ll let him calm down a bit and then see if he wants to explore.” Kitsune responded. “See you in a bit, Bern!” She chimed, walking up the stairs to the second story of the house.

“...Quite an interesting friend you have there, Berdie. I’m surprised I haven’t heard anything about her sooner. An awful feisty one, don’t you think?”

“Only when she needs to be.” Bernadette mumbled. “Known her since highschool. She transferred during freshman year, and stuck to me like glue. No wonder- she always says I was the first official friend she made here.”

“Ah, well isn’t that precious?” Evander chuckled. “She seems quite prickly to me, though.”

“Well, yeah, no duh. You broke into my house, and as far as she knew, you were some crazy intruder.” Bernadette scoffed, narrowing her eyes at him. “And speaking of, Evander, what did we talk about? In regards to you breaking in here whenever you want?”

“Can’t blame a man for being hungry, Berdie.” Evander shrugged nonchalantly. “On that note, I’ll just grab some lunch and leave. I would hate to intrude on your reunion with that little roommate of yours. I’m quite curious on the story about that… Let’s talk more about that tomorrow, sound good?”

“No, actually, that sounds awful.”

“Tomorrow it is then!” Evander chirped. “See you tomorrow, Berdie!” He added, grabbing some leftovers out of the fridge and making his merry way back to… wherever the hell it is he comes from.

Bernadette let out an irritated sigh. Well great, she thought. Now she had more to explain to her friend.
